Jenni Froment is on a mission to educate the birth community and women everywhere about their right to access safe VBAC birth options. She is a full-time Wife, Mother & Business Woman in Corporate America, but her personal experience with VBAC made her committed to dedicating a portion of her life to helping other VBAC parents have empowering and healing VBAC birth experiences. Jenni has had one emergency c-section birth, one elective scheduled c-section birth, one medicated vaginal birth (VBA2C) and one completely unmedicated VBA2C (2VBA2C). Her blended experience allows her to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support and her goal is clear: Empower c-section parents with choices when planning their next birth. Teach families that VBAC is safe, and show them the research. Train birth professionals to better support VBAC families with evidence-based, non-bias care.
In 2013, after having her first VBA2C birth, she took a leadership role in a local VBAC support group founded to educate and empower women planning VBAC births or recovering from unplanned c-sections, usually associated with trauma. Over the next two years, she met many amazing women and her time with that group of women gave her lifelong appreciation of the strength and beauty of women uniting for a common goal. Soon, she was certified as a Labor Doula, helping women in hospitals, homes and birth centers deliver their VBAC babies. Along the way, she taught VBAC classes in local OB offices, chiropractor offices and various birth centers. She would go to preach the VBAC message anywhere she could get a room full of people together. It was a beautiful, and very busy, time of her life.
Early in 2020, the year of unexpected events, she got another nudge to take her support to the next level so she could support VBAC families outside of her community and start to generate real change in the birth provider community. She took every moment of experience and wisdom from her own empowering births, the hundreds of empowering births she supported as a doula and the thousands of incredible VBAC and CBAC stories she'd gathered over eight years and rolled it into something she could share with everyone. She founded VBAC Academy, an online and in-person training resource for VBAC families to access evidence-based VBAC birth training, and to find local VBAC PROs in their community that can offer specialized VBAC support so that planning a VBAC birth doesn't have to feel hard anymore. In less than six months, VBAC Academy has a second Lead Trainer, Emmy Howard and ten certified VBAC PROs out in the community offering evidence-based, empowering VBAC birth support for women that deserve healing and empowering birth experiences.
Jenni lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and their five kids. She will continue to serve the VBAC community for as long as it takes to normalize and promote VBAC birth as a safe and reasonable choice for women.
